What does one write about a place like this? Situated in Souq Waqif. One of the 97 restaurants is one of the very popular restaurants in the souq. The interior (from my point of view ) is very dated and shabby. The lighting is very dim, which gives the whole place a very shabby look.
The Staff again was very rude, disinterested, and very loud. There was a heated disagreement taking place between 2 staff members at till, where swear words were being used( unfortunately I speak and understand the same language). The staff in their Uniforms had a very shabby appearance. The Manager was more interested in everything else than listening to my request. I got a feeling that the treatment you get here depends on which part of the world you come from.
Here it comes – The food was very touristy. After we placed our order the server dumped(yes with a loud thud! )some papodums with compliments( it felt like the server was least interested in their job. They had just dumped a couple of teaspoons of Chutney and served). Butter Chicken and Palak Panner were laced with food color. Chicken Briyani was decent and so was the naan. We had Breaded prawns with tartar sauce(it was sold with a fancy name on the menu). What I think they were trying to do was also cater to tourists/clients who were not very keen on Indian food).
Have you tried any of my recommendations? Did you like them? If you did, then this is not the place for you.
