For centuries this place has been souq for the bedouins to trade wool and animals for basic necessities. The place was falling into ruins due to centuries of neglect. In 2004 the regime decided to restore it to its former glory. Now it houses some of the best eateries and shops in Doha.

It is one of the important places for the fans to gather and celebrate their team. These celebrations go on until the early hours of the morning.

All around the souq you can find local women selling local home-cooked food. Khubus Regag(Arabic Crepe)with flavors of your choice, being the most popular find.

Kiosks of Turkish Ice cream, corn on the cob, and popcorn were some other offerings available to people.

In addition to these, there are the usual cafes. My personal favorites are Shai Shamoos Restaurant, Shujaa Restaurant, and fresh baked, where I tried Zaatar for the first time.
